ONE Championship: Martin Nguyen gets second short notice opponent in 4 days for Fight Night 7 in Bangkok
- Nguyen agrees to another short notice fight as late replacement Rezhab Shaydullaev pulls out of February 25’s featherweight MMA clash
- ‘The Situ-Asian’ had originally been set to face Shamil Gasanov, but Russian withdrew injured last Saturday

Martin Nguyen has agreed to a second late change of opponent in the space of just four days after his ONE Fight Night 7 bout fell through again in Bangkok, a source has told the Post.
The former ONE Championship two division title-holder was first set to fight rising featherweight contender Shamil Gasanov at Lumpinee Stadium on Saturday morning.
But “The Cobra” (13-0) withdrew with an injury last weekend, leaving the 33-year-old Vietnamese-Australian (14-6) looking at another late cancellation – a feeling he has come to know quite well over the last few years.
The Singapore-based martial arts promotion managed to find him another undefeated opponent on short notice, however, with Razhab Shaydullaev (6-0) of Kyrgyzstan set to make his debut against “The Situ-Asian”.
But Shaydullaev has also been forced to withdraw, the Post was told on Wednesday, just a few hours after interviewing Nguyen at the Rama Gardens Hotel Bangkok.
