Anissa Meksen caused a stir when she revealed this month why she refused to fight Stamp Fairtex in their ONE Championship mixed rules bout in Bangkok.

But Stamp has admitted she “didn’t know either” the fight would be declared a draw if it went the distance – something which caused Meksen to pull out during fight week.

The two were set to fight for four rounds, alternating between Muay Thai and MMA rules beginning with the former, at ONE Fight Night 6 in January.

But Meksen no-showed the weigh-ins, and later said ONE “made a huge mistake in their contract and communication”, believing she would not get a win bonus if it went the distance. “My contract was clear: a check [pay cheque] for the fight, a check for the victory, and a check for the possible KO,” she said.

“To be honest, I didn’t know either about the rules,” Stamp told the Post, laughing, at last weekend’s ONE Fight Night 7 event in Bangkok.

“But I think it’s fair because it’s MMA and Muay Thai, so it’s not really easy to give out the points fairly.
