Chinese fighter Tang Kai to put featherweight title on line against Thanh Le at ONE 166 in Qatar
- Regular champion Tang Kai will battle interim title holder Thanh Le for unified featherweight MMA title
- Pair will face off for a second time after Kai beat Le for the belt in 2022, but spent last year out injured
Tang Kai will put his featherweight MMA title on the line in a long-awaited rematch with Thanh Le at ONE 166 in Qatar in March.
The Chinese fighter (18-2) is the regular champion and was on an 11 fight winning streak before injury and then knee surgery ruled him out for the whole of last year.
Le (14-3), who Kai beat to take the title in 2022, holds the interim belt after submitting Ilya Freymanov at ONE Fight Night 15 last October.
ONE Championship has promised to put on five titles fights at Lusail Arena, and has confirmed three of those already, with Anatoly Malykhin taking on Reinier de Ridder for the middleweight MMA belt.
Malykhin already holds the heavyweight and light heavyweight titles, having stopped the Dutchman to claim the latter at ONE Fight Night 5. De Ridder will be fighting for the first time since his first round loss at the hands of the Russian.
The card will feature at least three rematches. Strawweight champion Jarred Brooks will be facing Joshua Pacio for the second time, he won the title by outpointing the Filipino at ONE 164 in 2022.
