Team Lakay lose another star as ONE Championship bantamweight Stephen Loman quits for pastures new
- Second ranked fighter in division joins exodus from head coach and founder Mark Sangiao’s stable
- Loman says parting was amicable and Sangiao wishes him luck for ‘future endeavours’

Team Lakay have lost another star, with No 2 ranked ONE Championship bantamweight fighter Stephen Loman the latest in a long line to quit the Baguio-based camp.
Last year, former ONE Championship title holders Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario and Joshua Pacio all left to form a new team called Lion’s Nation MMA.
Loman was one of the few remaining fighters from that era, but the Filipino has decided to move on.
The 32-year-old reportedly made the decision to end his 13-year association with Team Lakay after a conversation with head coach and founder Mark Sangiao on Tuesday.
In a statement outlining the decision, Loman expressed his gratitude to the veteran trainer.

“I had a heart-to-heart conversation with coach Mark and personally thanked him for all the help that he extended me to become a better fighter,” he said.
