ONE Championship: Chatri hails ‘record breaking’ Friday Fights 22, ‘biggest show ever at Lumpinee’ with stadium over capacity
- Total of ‘7.7 million baht’ handed out in bonuses on record breaking and ‘magical’ night of fights for ONE in Bangkok
- ‘The stadium was electric, the fights were electric,’ says CEO Chatri Sityodtong as two new champions are crowned

The walls of Lumpinee were shaking with the stadium well over capacity on a “record breaking” night for ONE Championship at Friday Fights 22 in Bangkok.
Two new champions were crowned with seven finishes from 11 fights on a thrilling card that showcased the best of the martial arts promotion’s burgeoning talent, mixed in with some of its biggest star names from MMA and Muay Thai.
“I just feel very grateful, full of gratitude to all of our fans around the world, all of our athletes,” Chatri told the Post backstage after the event.
“The stadium was electric, the fights were electric. They say it takes a village to raise a baby – to put on a show like tonight, it’s my team, the fans, the athletes, the media – the entire ecosystem coming together to have a magical moment like this.
“This is literally the greatest night in the entire history of Lumpinee. It sounds like I’m making a huge exaggeration. But ask anybody in stadium or watching on TV – we have broken records.”
ONE’s Thailand Facebook quadrupled its highest number of concurrent viewers for a Friday Fights show, peaking at 160,000.
