The last time Joseph Lasiri and Prajanchai PKSaenchaigym faced each other at ONE 157, the latter took such a pounding he refused to come out of his corner to start the fourth round.

Lasisri took the strawweight Muay Thai title despite going into the fight as a huge underdog, much as he will be in several days’ time when the pair clash again at ONE Friday Fights 46.

Prajanchai has not lost a fight since, and the only surprise surrounding the ONE Championship rematch is that it has taken more than 18 months to put together.

For the Thai fighter it is shot at redemption, and for his Italian opponent, who has been battling undisclosed injury issues, the chance to prove that the first time was no fluke.

“I want to show the people that the win wasn’t lucky,” Lasiri said. “When he [Prajanchai] lost against me, many people were shocked, and I am ready to shock them again.

“I will come there as the champion because I won the belt, and I deserve that. But like last year, I will be the underdog, just waiting for the time to do my job.”
