ONE Championship: Freddie Haggerty puts Muay Thai rivals on notice ahead of debut, says ‘I want those belts’
- Younger brother of double-title holder Jonathan Haggerty will have his first fight for promotion at ONE Friday Fights 49
- Teenager is training alongside his older sibling in Koh Samui ahead of January 26 bout

Days after Jonathan Haggerty announced a return to the ring, younger brother Freddie revealed he too had signed with ONE Championship.
The 18-year-old is set to make his debut at ONE Friday Fights 49 on January 26 against an as yet unnamed opponent at the famed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
And the younger Haggerty, who said he could not wait to fight on the big stage, promised to put on a “clinical performance”.
After the teenager steps into the ring for the first time, his older brother is expected to put one of his two titles on the line at ONE 166 in Qatar, with rumours suggesting he could face fellow Brit Nico Carrillo in bantamweight Muay Thai bout on March 1.
Other potential opponents for Haggerty include Felipe Lobo and Hiroki Akimoto. But with ONE Championship having recently signed a UK broadcast deal with Sky Sports, the prospect of an all-British title fight would certainly appeal to fight fans.
The siblings are currently training together in Koh Samui, and there will be big expectations for Freddie Haggerty, given the family name has already become synonymous with Muay Thai success.
