There is no love lost between Jonathan Haggerty and Felipe Lobo, which according to the Englishman will make it far easier to do “a proper demolition job” when the pair clash at ONE Fight Night 19.

Haggerty and his Brazilian opponent have history, exchanging words after the former had comprehensively beaten Lobo’s teammate and training partner Farbicio Andrade at ONE Fight Night 16 in November.

They will meet inside the Lumpinee Stadium again on Saturday, with Haggerty defending his batamweight Muay Thai title against an opponent he simply does not like.

“It’s always better when there’s animosity it just give you a reason to go in there and put on a proper demolition job,” he said.

As heavy favourite, Haggerty could run the risk of underestimating his opponent, but the 26-year-old said there was no danger of that happening.

“In this game it’s 4oz gloves and it only takes one shot to turn your lights out,” he said. “As long as we are 100 per cent on the night and we are switched on, which we always are, it’s no problem.”
