A clash between the top two contenders in the lightweight Muay Thai division is the first contest booked for the ONE Fight Night 22 event.

Sinsamut Klinmee, who has already fought for the belt twice, will take on Dmitry Menshikov on May 4, in Bangkok.

Sinsamut came close to winning his first title shot. At ONE Fight Night 3 in 2022 he lost by split decision to champion Regian Eersel, and the result was considered so controversial an immediate rematch was ordered.

There was nothing close about their bout last year, with the dominant Dutchman winning by way of fourth round knock out.

Since that setback Sinsamut has remained undefeated, and is coming off back-to-back wins over Victor Teixeira and Mouhcine Chafi. A third straight victory would put him firmly into title contention.

Menshikov finds himself in an identical situation. The Russian was handed a title shot on his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 11 but Eersel stopped him in the opening round.
