Top post for former Hong Kong captain Tabarak Dar at Diasqua Little Sai Wan
A qualified coach and umpire, he takes on the role of administrative manager at the independent club

Former Hong Kong cricket captain Tabarak Dar has been appointed administrative manager of DIASQUA Little Sai Wan, the independent club that recently went professional in a bid to strengthen the game in the city.
The club said Dar’s appointment was the first step in streamlining their activities in line with their ultimate goal of having their own dedicated training facility.
Dar made his Hong Kong debut in 1997 and was captain for 12 years from 2001 onwards. Under his captaincy, Hong Kong won the ACC Trophy in 2008. He has also played four one-day matches and two first-class games.
Tabarak success off the field and his amazing leadership qualities made this a relatively straight forward decision for the club
“Tabarak success off the field and his amazing leadership qualities made this a relatively straightforward decision for the club,” said club patron Tony Turner. “Tabarak will be overseeing DLSWCC’s coaching responsibilities with schools and various centres and more effectively managing the clubs membership and team playing programmes.
“He will also manage our coaching staff, which includes a team of full-time and part-time coaches.”
Dar was employed by Hong Kong Cricket Association as a full time Development Officer for 12 years and his duties included running the junior club cricket programmes and schools cricket.
He is also a qualified coach with Asian Cricket Club / Cricket Australia Level 3 Awards, a certified coach educator at ACC Advance Level and a qualified Umpire (ACC Advance Level Umpire).
Dar was head coach of the Hong Kong national team at the ACC Trophy in Kuwait in 2010 and served as a third impire in the Nepal vs Hong Kong T20 series and three-day match held in Sri Lanka in August 2015
