Knowing me, knowing you: England’s Joe becomes fourth Burgess at NRL’s South Sydney Rabbitohs
English brothers Sam, George and Thomas Burgess are already playing for the National Rugby League side
England winger Joe Burgess has joined the South Sydney Rabbitohs for the rest of the National Rugby League season, becoming the fourth Burgess at the club.
Burgess, 21, links up with the Rabbitohs from the Sydney Roosters where he played four NRL games this season.
He will join his unrelated namesakes, English brothers Sam, George and Thomas Burgess at South Sydney.
Burgess also played three tests for England in 2015 and played 55 games in the Super League for the Wigan Warriors, the club he will rejoin in 2017.
“Joe is a quality winger and he sees an opportunity to play more first grade football for the rest of the year with our club,” coach Michael Maguire said.
“He has played international football and is an excellent finisher.”
