Mark Selby added a second UK Championship to his world title with a 10-7 win over Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final on Sunday.

World number one Selby swept into a 7-2 lead before five-champion O’Sullivan clawed his way back to 7-5 and then 8-7.

But the 33-year-old held his nerve to become just the sixth player to secure the world and UK titles in the same calendar year.

“To play Ronnie in any game means it’s always a great atmosphere and gives you a buzz and makes you want to play well. I had to be on top of my game today,” said Selby who also won the UK title in 2013.
