Taiwanese-American basketball star set to undergo evaluation after landing awkwardly on his right knee during loss to Indiana Pacers
Jeremy Lin could be facing a long spell on the sidelines after suffering what appeared to be a serious knee injury in the Brooklyn Nets’ NBA opener.
The Taiwanese-American basketball player drove to the basket for a contested lay-up during the fourth quarter of the 140-131 loss at the Indiana Pacers, but landed awkwardly and crumpled to the court.
He clutched at his right knee immediately and stared at it for several seconds in an apparent state of shock as his teammates came over to check on him.
Lin then repeatedly said “I’m done, I’m done” and burst into tears, writhing in pain on the floor.

The 29-year-old point guard was assisted off the court but limped to the locker room on his own.
According to ESPN, he will undergo an evaluation on his knee in New York with the Nets reportedly concerned over the severity of the injury.
It looks to be another blow for the former New York Knicks star, who made just 36 appearances last season in an injury-hit campaign.
Lin, who scored 18 points and racked up three assists before exiting the game against the Pacers, was expected to play a big role in the Nets’ backcourt this season.
