After 82 regular season games for both teams and four gruelling play-off series over two months, the Stanley Cup is coming down to one game.

On Thursday morning (8am Hong Kong time) the Boston Bruins will get a chance to win the franchise’s seventh Cup on home ice against the upstart St Louis Blues.

The Blues are looking for their first Cup in franchise history since joining the league in 1967 and have had a storybook season which saw them bottom in the standings as late as January 3, which is almost midway through the season. The team were 11 points out of the final wild card spot behind the Anaheim Ducks, however went on a superb run, which began with rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington getting the start in net after being called up from the minors.

Binnington, who is in the conversation for the Conn Smythe trophy, which is given to the play-offs most valuable player (MVP), went 21-5-1 with an impressive 1.78 goals against average for the Blues during the regular season.

The Blues’ turnaround started on January 23 when they embarked on an 11-game winning streak, a franchise record, which vaulted them into a play-off spot.
