Jeremy Lin is known to be a keen fisherman and he celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with a great catch before he starts the serious side of business when the new Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season kicks off in November.

Lin, who signed with the Beijing Ducks last month from NBA champions Toronto Raptors, told his fans on his Weibo account that he spent the holiday fishing with his father, Lin Gie-ming, as he enjoyed a day out less than two months before the Ducks take on the Tianjin Gold Lions in their first match of the CBA season on November 3.

“Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! I went out fishing with my dad. He is fabulous. He caught more [fish] than I did. We chatted a lot. This year, where have you guys been?” wrote Lin in Chinese in his Weibo account.

Lin showed off his big catch – some striped bass and halibut – on his boat where he also took a photo with his dad with some fishing equipment.

The 31-year-old point guard joined the Ducks in August, ending speculation as to which team he would be signing after leaving the Raptors at the end of the season. He said in an interview that he didn’t feel like a part of the Raptors and felt other NBA teams didn’t want him.
