Asian Games 2023: Hong Kong breakdancer B-Boy C Plus wants a world championship – and more resources for young athletes
- As one of four breakers representing Hong Kong in Hangzhou, B-Boy C Plus wants good results as well as exposure for breaking
- The world No 50 dived headfirst into the sport 16 years ago and has since travelled across the world to compete

When Hong Kong’s highest ranked breakdancer B-Boy C Plus steps onto the dance floor to compete, he always stares into the spotlight to absorb the energy from the spectators and dancers around him.
On Friday he will be doing that on his biggest stage so far, as his sport makes its Asian Games debut in Hangzhou.
“When I watch the spotlight, I can relax more and feel it, just be myself and the whole world is calm,” said C Plus, whose real name is Sze Ka-yam.
Even after 16 years of breaking and competing, the 30-year-old said the nerves have not gone away, but the next big achievement keeps pushing him forward.
Regardless of recent accolades, Sze is always looking ahead to the next target with two overarching goals guiding his breaking career.

“One [goal] is to be a world champion,” Sze said. “But the other one is about the education in Hong Kong. Education is to let more people know about what breaking is.”
