Both returning champions, Mat Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey, have booked their tickets already, the question is, can anyone beat them?

When the 2019 CrossFit Games descends upon Madison, Wisconsin, this August, that will be the question on everyone’s mind. Fraser is a three-time defending champion, and Toomey has two under her belt now. The individual dynasties look tough to break, but there are definitely some fit athletes champing at the bit.

There is Canadian Brent Fikowski, and Lefteris Theofanidis, the unknown Greek who came out of nowhere to place second behind Fraser in the 2019 CrossFit Open.

CrossFit has started its promotional campaign for the 2019 Games with a slick new video titled “A Gathering of Champions”. Check it out below, and check back April 27-29 for our full coverage of the first Sanctional to be held in China, the Asia CrossFit Championship, which will feature Fikowski looking to book his ticket to the Games.

We do know that Hong Kong’s own Ant Haynes, former rugby player and Coastal Fitness coach, has booked his ticket as the top finisher for Hong Kong and China, and will head to Madison. Haynes, along with Victoria Campos, who works for CrossFit Asphodel, but holds a Bralizian passport, will both be in Shanghai for the Asia Sanctional as well.
