Torian Pro: Kara Saunders and Royce Dunne take titles as first athletes punch tickets to 2021 CrossFit Games

  • New mother Saunders says she is now going to take few days to spend with her daughter

The first three men, women and teams punched their tickets to the 2021 CrossFit Games at the Torian Pro semi-final in Brisbane, Australia.

For the men, it was Royce Dunne, Jay Crouch and Bayden Brown. For the women, it was Kara Saunders, Laura Clifton and Ellie Turner.

Dunne finished in the top four in most of his workouts which sealed his lead among the Oceania competition early on at the three-day competition at the Patrick Rafter Arena. The games will take place in Madison, Wisconsin, from July 27-August 1, and feature a full slate of competitors from around the world qualifying via semi-finals.

After the win, Dunne posted on Instagram: “So many things to say and people to thank – for now I’ll just say I am so grateful. God is good and the people around me are pretty special too.”

Dunne, who is best known as a team competitor, now looks to leave his mark as an individual, having won an event at the games.
