Hong Kong’s largest trail race, the Oxfam Trailwalker, will open registration for its 2026 edition next Wednesday, with the organiser introducing a 20km category to mark the event’s 50th anniversary.

The signature 100km event will once again form the centrepiece for the race, which will take place from November 20 to 22.

Teams of four will set off from Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung and finish at Harrow International School Hong Kong in Tuen Mun, traversing most of the MacLehose Trail and connecting routes within a 48-hour time limit.

To celebrate the milestone year, organisers have added an “Oxfam 50th Anniversary Limited Edition” 20km route aimed at broadening participation.

The shorter course will start at Rotary Park Car Park on Tai Mo Shan, follow Section Eight of the MacLehose Trail and also finish at the school in Tuen Mun.

Unlike the 100km race, which requires all team members to be at least 18 on race day, the 20km event allows participants aged 14 or above, provided the team leader is an adult.
