The Paris Olympics are over, but a Games packed full of highs and lows, laugher and tears will live long in the memory.
It’s four years until we do it all again, so in the meantime, here’s a look back at some of the best of the past three weeks.
Mongolia’s kit

The fashion gold medal was won before the Games even started.
No one could compete with Mongolia’s opening ceremony outfit, which was rated hands down the most beautiful in Paris.
Hong Kong spirit
Remember the days after Vivian Kong’s gold medal?
The city’s golden girl said it was the “Hong Kong spirt” which saw overcome a seemingly insurmountable deficit to win the women’s epeeist final.
Still happy
Medal machine Siobhan Haughey was eyeing the gold but ended up with the bronze in the 100 metres freestyle.
She consoled herself by becoming the Hongkonger with the most medals.

Cheung gold … again
Cheung Ka-long won a gold medal for the second consecutive Games, and become just the third fencer in history to defend his title.
But it was so dramatic that the Italian Olympic Committee lodged a formal complaint after the final defeat.
Inhuman
Pan Zhanle shocked the world as he stormed to gold and smashed his own world in the 100m freestyle.
And the manner of victory created such a wave that there were some who claimed it was not “humanly possible”.
China’s golden girl
When Quan Hongchan outduelled teammate Chen Yuxi to claim women’s 10m platform title.
She proved she was No 1 and became an overnight sensation in China.
Weibo crackdown
The women’s individual table tennis final saw two of China’s best face off.
Unfortunately, it led to fans of silver medallist Sun Yingsha attacking winner Chen Meng and then several Weibo accounts banned for “inciting conflict”.

Ultimate No 1
Is there any sport with a more dominant competitor than China with table tennis?
No one can stop them, and once again they completed a clean sweep in Paris.
No more bronze
It was considered one of the most iconic images of the Paris Games.
But the all-black podium after the women’s gymnastics floor exercise is no more, with Jordan Chiles ordered to give back her bronze medal.
