Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late, Beautiful Dreamer showed good speed to lead one off the fence with the important 10-pound claim of Alvin Ng ka-chun, was headed by another late-fancied galloper Lifeline Elite at the 600m, circled the final bend three deep and wore down Lucky Red at the 100m to score a first win at his eighth attempt over this trip. Prosperous travelled third from the rear along the fence, pushed into the clear four deep at the 200m and was closing the gap late to finish level with China Good for second. The latter was taken back to last from a wide gate, straightened two deep and ran on nicely along the inside to finish in a dead-heat for the runner-up spot. Lucky Red enjoy the soft run in third, worked to the lead at the 400m and grudgingly gave way over the last 100m. Favourite Spearhead travelled in fourth near the fence, straightened three deep, was in a bit tight at the 200m and kept on evenly without threatening in a disappointing effort. Oyster travelled a handy fifth to the outside of Spearhead, straightened three deep and did make some ground late to go close, without threatening to place. He appears to want an extra 200m. Well-fancied debutant Lifeline Elite was rushed forward after a sluggish break to wrest the lead four deep at the 600m, tended to lay out entering the final bend and was a spent force at the 200m. He needed the racing experience.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (013) - MIDDLE BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000 Meters LINKED WIN was difficult to load.

Before being allowed to race again, LINKED WIN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

LUCKY RED was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between PAR EXCELLENCE and BEAUTIFUL DREAMER which shifted in slightly.

From wide barriers, CHINA GOOD and SPIRIT OF SECRETS were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Also shortly after the start, LIFELINE ELITE became unbalanced after shifting out and bumping LINKED WIN.

Making the turn just passing the 600 Metres, LUCKY RED was momentarily crowded for room inside BEAUTIFUL DREAMER which got its head on the side and shifted in away from LIFELINE ELITE.

Shortly after this, LIFELINE ELITE became unbalanced in its action, got its head on the side and hung out.

After the 200 Metres, OYSTER shifted out and brushed LIFELINE ELITE.

For the majority of the race, MY TIME travelled wide and without cover and shortly after entering into the Straight got its head on the side and hung in momentarily.

A veterinary inspection of LIFELINE ELITE after the race did not show any significant findings.
