Recap by phillip woo

Supreme Win was rated third and one-off the fence, swept to the lead four deep at the 150m and held on gamely for a head-bob win for a fourth straight second-up success. He had the fitness edge. Fat Choy Oohlala was a stride slow and made his run worse than midfield and on the rails, angled into the clear five wide at the 350m and was closing the gap late. He'll come on for the outing and is certainly a better prospect over the mile. Firming favourite National Treasure enjoyed the soft run in fourth along the rails and stayed on one-paced for third. Off the scene for a long time, Vaugirard made his run third from the rear and to the outside of Fat Choy Oohlala, circled the final bend with one wider out and was running on nicely. Brave Kid went a steady clip on the front and tired over the final 100m off a big weight. Cerise Cherry stalked the pace in second and was struggling to stay in touch over the final 200m. Specked late, Sapelli made his run at the rear and was never in the match.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (025) - THE KWANGTUNG HANDICAP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1400 Meters BRAVE KID was difficult to load.

Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE KID will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

Passing the 300 Metres, VAUGIRARD got its head on the side and shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of CALIFORNIA MOON which itself shifted out slightly.

VAUGIRARD continued to get its head on the side and lay in, resulting in Apprentice C Y Ho changing the whip into his right hand approaching the 200 Metres.

When questioned, T Clark stated that he had been instructed to ride BRAVE KID, from the outside barrier, in a forward position as there did not appear to be much speed in the race.

He said he had hoped that BRAVE KID would be able to obtain a position outside of the lead.

He said in the early stages BRAVE KID, which was wearing blinkers for the first time, was able to go forward without having to be made use of and as he felt that the tempo of the race was only fair, he elected to continue into the lead on BRAVE KID.
