Favourite Chancellor was patiently ridden fifth along the fence, strung up in traffic three deep upon straightening and shifted gears to split runners Longwah Kid and John Dory 50m out for his maiden win. He's got scope to head higher. John Dory pressed forward from midfield to assume a position one-out, one-back at the 800m, straightened four deep and found one better. He's ready to win. Mochi travelled keenly four back and three deep with no cover, hit the straight five wide and loomed a winning chance at the 200m, before peaking inside the final 50m. Longwah Kid moved up to second behind High Return and two deep at the 850m, swept to the lead at the 300m and couldn't keep up the gallop over the final 100m. Plunged late, Super Caga travelled worse than midfield and one-off the fence, straightened four wide and made some ground. Scent Of Osmanthus came up flat over the final 150m. He'll come on further from this run. Well-fancied late, Presto only held his ground.
