Recap by phillip woo

Winning Scholar went straight to the lead, straightened a length on top and kept finding to score a nice win for his new trainer Peter Ng bik-kuen. Favourite Prosperous recovered to make his run in midfield after a sluggish break, rallied five wide upon straightening and got the jump on Oriental Courser to come up narrowly on top for second. Oriental Courser made his run second from the rear, still only had one beaten at the top of the straight, peeled off heels into the clear five wide at the 150m and finished strongly. He's had health issues, but is certainly plenty useful when right and can score when next stepping out over the 1,000m. Lucky Red enjoyed the box-seat run after jumping well, had every chance and was overhauled inside the final 100m for a placing. Star Legend saved ground behind midfield, straightened one off the fence and made some ground late near the inside without threatening to hit the placings. Amazing Sky was prominent in the run one-out, one-back, loomed a place chance four deep at the 200m before coming up flat over the final 100m. Debutant Best Eleven was never on the track in midfield from a wide gate and never did fire. He's capable of better and can put a pen through this race. Gold Winner travelled in second and one off the fence, straightened three deep and was running on empty at the 150m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (085) - KAM SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000 Meters On arrival at the Start, it was noted that HAPPY WISDOM had blood at the mouth.

The Veterinary Officer reported that an examination of HAPPY WISDOM revealed that horse to be suitable to race.

PROSPEROUS was slow to begin and then shortly after the start, along with STAR LEGEND, was crowded for room between YEE WONGCHOY which shifted out after being bumped by LUCKY RED and WINNING SCHOLAR which shifted in slightly.

AMAZING SKY shifted out at the start, resulting in ORIENTAL COURSER and BEST ELEVEN being hampered.

In this incident, BEST ELEVEN became unbalanced.

From wide barriers, HERO AND GOLD and SPIRIT OF SECRETS were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Making the turn after the 600 Metres, LUCKY RED got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING SCHOLAR.

Approaching the 400 Metres, PROSPEROUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING SKY when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.

In the Straight, ORIENTAL COURSER was shifted out from behind runners to obtain clear running.

Throughout the race, BEST ELEVEN travelled wide and without cover.

WINNING SCHOLAR and PROSPEROUS were sent for sampling.
