Recap by phillip woo

Lucky Tycoon made his run second from the rear, took closer order at the 600m, swung the final bend six wide and finished well to take control 20m out for back-to-back wins. Notus was ridden early to occupy a spot in fourth and one off the fence, straightened four deep and wore down Rumba King in the dying stage to secure second off a light weight with the switch back to his preferred all-weather surface. Favourite Rumba King was posted three deep on the speed after breaking alertly, assumed the lead from Chater Power at the 200m and condition gave out inside the final 50m. He'll come on for the effort and prove competitive next time out sprinting on either surface. Oyster stretched out reasonably well to fill the frame in fourth. Plunged late, Chater Power assumed the lead 800m out along the fence, straightened a length on top and was giving ground inside the final 150m. Easy Ahead travelled behind midfield and on the rails, hit the straight four deep and was getting going late without looking a place threat. Fortune Spirit sat outside the leader, straightened with every chance and was giving ground passing the 200m. Well Noted was rated second or third from the rear and three deep, pushed into the clear with one wider soon after straightening and never did fire for his new trainer Peter Ng. Surrounded missed the start and was never a danger with some money coming on late.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (104) - MUK MIN HA HANDICAP (Sec 1) - Class 4 - 1200 Meters TRACK LIGHTNING was withdrawn on 18.10.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GOLDEN INSIGHT (G Cheyne).

Before being allowed to race again, TRACK LIGHTNING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HINYUEN PALADIN blundered on jumping.

SURROUNDED was very slow to begin and then for some distance after this despite being ridden along became detached from the field.

Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, GOLDEN INSIGHT commenced to over-race and shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of RUMBA KING.

After this, GOLDEN INSIGHT travelled wide and without cover.

Also making the first turn near the 700 Metres, BIG WINNER AGAIN got its head on the side, shifted out and bumped WELL NOTED.

Near the 600 Metres, BIG WINNER AGAIN was momentarily crowded for room between WELL NOTED and LUCKY TYCOON which shifted out.

In the early part of the Straight, EASY AHEAD raced in restricted room between OYSTER and NOTUS.

Throughout the race, RUMBA KING travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of WELL NOTED after the race did not show any significant findings.

RUMBA KING, LUCKY TYCOON and NOTUS were sent for sampling.
