Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Super Plus was nicely rated in fourth and one off the rails, peeled four deep at the 300m and let down well to collar Danewin Winning 20m out for the win. Danewin Winning got over nicely from a wide gate to settle third behind the crack pace of Vintage Hussler and Deposer, split that pair at the 200m to hit the lead 100m out and found one better on the day. He's overdue for a win. Pocket Rockets settled behind midfield and two deep, rounded the final bend five wide and ran on reasonably well to take third. Deposer sat outside the leader Vintage Hussler from gate 11 and gave way over the final 100m. Vintage Hussler failed to catch a breather on the front and was running on empty 100m out. Glenealy Star travelled fifth along the fence, straightened three deep and couldn't find another gear. Double Luck travelled third from the rear and two- to-three deep, rounded the final bend with one wider out and passed only beaten runners late. Smart Touch settled fourth from the rear after a sluggish break, shifted into the clear five wide at the 200m and made some ground late without threatening with money coming on late. Palepale was posted deep without cover in midfield, swung the final bend widest out and never did fire. Lago Express and Billion Gains broke poorly and were never factors.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (153) - THE FAKEI CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1000 Meters Prior to the gates being released, LAGO EXPRESS became very fractious and as the start was effected lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, LAGO EXPRESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial.

As the start was effected, BILLION GAINS got its head down, then bounded in the air and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground.

Then making the first turn, BILLION GAINS got its head on the side and ran out across the heels of DOUBLE LUCK and as a result was severely checked.

In this incident, LAGO EXPRESS was taken wider.

Before being allowed to race again, BILLION GAINS will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend.

FAST FORWARD shifted in at the start and bumped POCKET ROCKETS.

Shortly after the start, SMART TOUCH was momentarily crowded for room between SUPER PLUS and GLENEALY STAR which shifted out.

From a wide barrier, DOUBLE LUCK was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

After the 700 Metres, PALEPALE was left racing wide and without cover.

Making the turn near the 550 Metres, SMART TOUCH got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of POCKET ROCKETS.

DEPOSER got its head on the side and lay out after the 500 Metres.

Near the 250 Metres, FAST FORWARD raced in restricted room between PALEPALE and DOUBLE LUCK which shifted out to obtain clear running.

SUPER PLUS and DANEWIN WINNING were sent for sampling.
