Recap by phillip woo

Plunged to start favourite at the jump, Fortune Winner was patiently ridden behind midfield and on the rails, angled into the clear six wide at the 300m and out-finished Noble Deluxe 20m out for the win. Noble Deluxe travelled in midfield and two deep, rounded the final bend five wide, hit the front briefly 50m out and found one better on the evening, despite the step up in trip. Slammed late, Ho Wongchoy travelled a handy fifth between runners, rounded the final bend five wide, put his head briefly in front at the 100m and found a couple too good over the last 50m. Private Road sat outside the leader Win A Dozen, hit the lead rounding the final bend and gave way grudgingly over the final 100m. Owners' Glory made his run second from the rear and one off the fence after going back from the widest gate, hit the straight with two wider out and was getting going late with the race was all but over. Summer Dash was taken back to last from a wide gate, was still at the rear upon straightening five wide and made some ground without menacing. Drawing some late support, Enabling settled ahead of midfield and on the rails after a good break, cornered in four deep and kept on one-paced off a sharp rise in weight. Interchina Star got over nicely from gate nine to enjoy a box-seat trip, hit the straight one off the fence and failed to turn it up a gear over the final 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (174) - THE WAYFOONG CENTENARY BOWL (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1800 Meters HO HO LIFE, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 15.11.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).

Before being allowed to race again, HO HO LIFE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SICHUAN LEGEND was slow to begin.

From outside barriers, SUMMER DASH and OWNERS!| GLORY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Approaching the 500 Metres, FORTUNE WINNER was steadied away from the heels of NOBLE DELUXE.

OWNERS!| GLORY, which was following, was inconvenienced as a consequence.

After the 300 Metres, MING HOI TREASURE, which was giving ground, was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE WINNER which shifted to the outside of NOBLE DELUXE into clear running.

Approaching the 100 Metres, HO WONGCHOY shifted out under pressure, resulting in NOBLE DELUXE being crowded between that horse and FORTUNE WINNER which, when bumped on the hindquarters by NOBLE DELUXE, became unbalanced.

After the 150 Metres, SUMMER DASH had some difficulty obtaining clear running.

Throughout the race, MING HOI TREASURE travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FORTUNE WINNER had lost its left front plate.

A veterinary inspection of ENABLING after the race did not show any significant findings, however, it was not able to be scoped.

FORTUNE WINNER and NOBLE DELUXE were sent for sampling.

Addition to Racing Incidents Report of 13 November 2011 Sha Tin Racemeeting a.Race 3 (159)Shortly after the start, J Lloyd (HAPPY CHA CHA) adjusted his right foot in the stirrup.b.Race 5 (161)The Stewards tonight afforded Z Purton the opportunity to explain the disappointing performance of JIMSON THE BEST.

Z Purton stated that although he was able to obtain a good position on the horse behind the leaders, JIMSON THE BEST became unbalanced on a number of occasions throughout the race when racing tight between NICE FOLKS and BET ON ME.

He said because of this JIMSON THE BEST was reluctant to maintain its position between those horses.

He said at the entrance to the Straight he attempted to shift out to obtain clear running to the outside of ENHANCED and in doing so made contact with NICE FOLKS on a number of occasions.

He said after this JIMSON THE BEST did not close off the race.

He added although JIMSON THE BEST was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened out of the Straight, he did feel there were some reasons for the horse not having performed as it did at its previous start over the course and distance.
