Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Flying Chaparral was up with the leaders early, before handing up to enjoy the box-seat run rounding the first bend, shifted off the fence at the 600m, swept to the lead three deep at the 200m and proved much too good for back-to-back wins, despite a switch of courses to Happy Valley. Flying In travelled worse than midfield and three deep with some cover, rallied five wide upon straightened and whacked on a clear, but distant second. Super Hurricane saved ground in fifth, stayed to the inside upon straightening, shifted off the tiring leaders Many Gains and Flora Danica at the 150m and kept on well for third. Flora Danica sat outside the leader Many Gains in second, assumed the lead at the 800m, straightened narrowly on top and gave way over the final 100m. Many Gains went an even clip on the speed and he too was giving way over the last 100m. Exceptional Art checked off the heels of Let's Goal at the 400m, switched into the clear six deep at the 300m and was getting going with some purpose late. Specked late, Let's Goal was posted behind midfield and three deep, turned the final bend six wide and made some ground pass beaten runners. Yue Lu Treasure made his run at the rear after copping a bump soon after the break, swung the final bend widest out and only got pass tiring runners late. Casa Junior was never a factor at the finish, but was twice hampered in the run.

Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, EXCEPTIONAL ART got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of APPRECIATION.

Approaching the 600 Metres, EXCEPTIONAL ART, which was continuing to over-race, was checked away from the heels of APPRECIATION and in doing so shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of CASA JUNIOR which was checked and lost ground when racing tight inside the hindquarters of APPRECIATION.
