Recap by phillip woo

Dr Super was arguing for the lead to the outside of High Return from a wide gate until gaining a length advantage at the 1,000m, was again pestered by that one at the 600m, straightened narrowly on top, kicked three lengths clear at the 200m and held on late from a fast-finishing Good Hong Kong with money pouring in late. Good Hong Kong settled behind midfield and two deep, and was finishing best of all to be a clear second. He remains one to follow. Medallist was posted three deep behind midfield with cover just behind outside Good Hong Kong, swung the final bend widest out and got going late to collar outsider Great Pegasus in the final bound for a placing. Great Pegasus travelled three back and two deep, worked to third five wide at the 80m and was pipped late for a placing. Spicy Siam ran on nicely near the inside in a promising debut effort at long odds. He'll come on for this run and will be better over further. Real Dragon was posted three deep in midfield, straightened with two wider out and kept on evenly over the final 150m. Favourite Craig's Pride enjoyed a cosy run but found nothing. He had irregular heart rhythms. Kensworth Kid was struggling to stay in touch.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (301) - SA PO HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400 Meters On arrival at the Start, it was noted that SPICY SIAM had lost its right front plate.

This plate was refitted.

SPICY SIAM was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

MEDALLIST was checked at the start when crowded for room between REAL DRAGON and DR SUPER, both of which shifted ground.

FIERY PATROL was slow to begin and shortly after the start was bumped by JADE PINS which shifted in.

Near the 800 Metres, MEDALLIST was steadied away from the heels of REAL DRAGON.

For some distance rounding the Home Turn, GREAT PEGASUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KENSWORTH KID.

In the early part of the Straight, FIERY PATROL got its head on the side and hung in.

Near the 300 Metres, TITANIUM ALLOY was steadied when disappointed for running between KENSWORTH KID and CRAIGS PRIDE which got its head on the side and shifted out.

Passing the 250 Metres, KENSWORTH KID was steadied when crowded for room between CRAIGS PRIDE and ROCKN TYPHOON (Apprentice C Y Ho) which shifted in under pressure.

Apprentice Ho was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes every effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances.

Near the 150 Metres, CRAIGS PRIDE, which was giving ground, got its head up and raced ungenerously when checked away from the heels of HIGH RETURN (Apprentice K C Ng) which shifted out.

In the circumstances, Apprentice Ng was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes every effort to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in the future.

Approaching the 100 Metres, M L Yeung (GREAT PEGASUS) dropped his right rein.

Throughout the race, ROCKN TYPHOON travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of CRAIGS PRIDE after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being permitted to race again, CRAIGS PRIDE will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

CRAIGS PRIDE, DR SUPER and GOOD HONG KONG were sent for sampling.
