Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on choice, Zezao rated better in the run in midfield, cornered in three deep and took control 150m out for an overdue win in two positive performances for his new trainer Richard Gibson. He is always a runner that has shown the ability and should be able to hold his own at the next level now. Mr Award jumped well before settling second and one-off the fence, rallied four wide upon straightening and kept on well for second. He's come good in his past two and can get away with a race at this level. Flying Keeper settled well in third, rounded the final bend five wide and stayed on nicely for a placing. Newswire Too travelled ahead of midfield and two deep, shifted into the clear six wide at the 250m and came away to grab Big Winner Again in the shadows of the post for fourth. Big Winner Again eventually cleared at the 1,000m to lead from Mr Award, opened up by nearly two lengths at the 800m, ridden to hold a length advantage until the 200m and was stopping 100m out. Duke's Victory and Polygold ran on OK without threateningSugar On Top and Amazing Venture never made any impression.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (333) - WAI YIP HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400 Meters AMAZING VENTURE was slow to begin.

SAME SAME and DUKES VICTORY made heavy contact at the start, resulting in SAME SAME being taken out onto the hindquarters of MUSTANG which became unbalanced.

After this, MUSTANG was taken across behind runners.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, DUKES VICTORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAME SAME which was being steadied to obtain a position with cover behind NEWSWIRE TOO.

SUGAR ON TOP and FIRST CLASS, which were racing inside DUKES VICTORY, were hampered in consequence.

Near the 700 Metres, ZEZAO got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SIMPLY JOY and shifted out, resulting in SAME SAME being awkwardly placed inside the heels of ASTROKID.

FIRST CLASS, which was following ZEZAO, was hampered in consequence.

In the middle stages, POLYGOLD raced keenly and for some distance after the 700 Metres was awkwardly placed behind MUSTANG.

Passing the 700 Metres, FLYING KEEPER was taken in to a position three wide and without cover by MR AWARD which shifted to the outside of BIG WINNER AGAIN.

Then near the 600 Metres, FLYING KEEPER was able to shift back in to a position with cover behind MR AWARD.

After being bumped by NEWSWIRE TOO after the 400 Metres, ASTROKID shifted out and made contact with DUKES VICTORY which became unbalanced.

For the majority of the race, ASTROKID travelled wide and without cover.

ZEZAO and MR AWARD were sent for sampling.
