Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Right Timing urged forward from the widest gate to eventually lead on the rails at the 1,000m, straightened a half-length on top from Fortune Bravo and kept finding to repel that rival to score an overdue win. Fortune Bravo enjoyed a cosy run second on the rails, straightened two deep and kept up a good gallop to come up just short while coming home a clear second. He is ready to win. Connoisseur's Pick settled worse than midfield and on the rails, cornered in three deep and out-dashed Kensworth Kid for a placing. Kensworth Kid settled outside Connoisseur's Pick in midfield, rallied five wide and eventually got going to make it close for a placing with a step up in trip. He appears to want even a further trip. Iron Hawk eventually settled third from the rear and two deep, rounded the final bend widest out and passed only beaten runners late. Fastplus Master travelled behind midfield and two deep, cornered in six wide and made a steady bid without threatening. Saddlers Lodge travelled third and two deep, loomed a chance at the 200m, before coming up flat 100m out. He's not genuine. Well-fancied to jump second favourite, Follow The Wind was posted three deep without cover around midfield, straightened with one wider out and was stopping 200m out. He'll need more time.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (372) - PERIDOT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600 Meters After the 900 Metres, SADDLERS LODGE was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE BRAVO which shifted out after being crossed by RIGHT TIMING.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FOLLOW THE WIND, Z Purton stated that he was left racing wide and without cover in the early stages and near the 1200 Metres made contact with FASTPLUS MASTER as he attempted to shift in behind KENSWORTH KID to obtain cover.

He said however that FASTPLUS MASTER maintained its position and he was not able to obtain the position behind KENSWORTH KID and for this reason FOLLOW THE WIND travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

He said FOLLOW THE WIND travelled comfortably until placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, however, when asked, FOLLOW THE WIND did not respond to his riding.

He said although FOLLOW THE WIND had to be steadied away from the heels of FASTPLUS MASTER near the 150 Metres when that horse was taken out by KENSWORTH KID, FOLLOW THE WIND was a beaten horse at that time.

He added that although FOLLOW THE WIND travelled wide and without cover throughout the race, the horse was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to respond to his riding in the early part of the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of FOLLOW THE WIND after the race did not show any significant findings, however, an endoscopic examination was not able to be conducted on the horse post-race.

RIGHT TIMING and FORTUNE BRAVO were sent for sampling.
