Recap by phillip woo

Packing Ok enjoyed the run of the race on the back of the speed in third and along the inside behind the even sectionals of Super Pistachio, swept to the lead three deep at the 200m and kept on gamely for the win. Favourite Pure Champion made his run about six off the leaders in fourth and two-to-three deep without cover, straightened two deep, shifted into the clear four wide at the 250m and just out-dashed Sapelli in the dying stages off a big weight. Firming late, Sapelli travelled in fifth underneath Pure Champion on the rails and was hitting the line well to make it interesting for second. Jacobee settled a distant second in the run, assumed the lead from a tiring Super Pistachio at the 300m and was never a threat over the last 100m. Beauty Lead eventually made his run at the rear, straightened three deep and stayed on dourly without looking a chance with the step up in grade. Super Pistachio was given an uncontested lead, straightened a length on top and was struggling 250m out. Super Satin settled second from the rear and three deep, cornered in widest out and never let down in another disappointing run since his Derby win a few seasons back.
