Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Ho Ho Life settled fifth and on the rails, switched five wide upon straightening, swept to the lead 120m out and drew clear for a handy win. Vigor Delight settled second from the rear, cornered in one off the fence and finished off soundly to snare second between the pair of Handsome Batchelor and Ho Wongchoy. Specked late, Handsome Batchelor enjoyed the box-seat run, straightened two deep and stayed on gamely to edge out Ho Wongchoy for a placing. Ho Wongchoy sat outside the leader Interchina Star in the run, assumed the lead three deep at the 250m and was headed late for a placing with money pouring in late. Owners' Glory settled fourth and one off the fence, rounded the final bend four deep and failed to turn it up a gear with every chance. Iron Eagle settled fourth from the rear and near the inside, rallied four deep upon straightening and made some ground late without threatening in an improved effort. Interchina Star cornered nearly a length on top and was stopping 100m out. Glory Of India settled midfield and three deep, cornered in with two wider out and never fired. Let's Goal was at the back in the run after badly missing the jump by three lengths and was never a factor.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (438) - SHING PING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800 Meters Just prior to the start being effected, LETS GOAL became fractious and consequently was very slow to begin.

Before being allowed to race again, LETS GOAL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

A short distance after the start, OWNERS GLORY was crowded for room between GLORY OF INDIA and HO WONGCHOY, both of which shifted ground.

T Angland (OWNERS GLORY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the winning post on the first occasion he failed to make sufficient endeavour to prevent his mount from shifting in, resulting in it shifting in across the running of GLORY OF INDIA, causing that horse to be checked and lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

When GLORY OF INDIA was checked, it shifted in, resulting in TONBRIDGE being crowded for room.

T Angland was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday, 11 March 2012 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 4 March 2012.

In addition, T Angland was fined $30,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, TONBRIDGE struck the running rail of its own accord and became badly unbalanced.

Passing the 1300 Metres, HO HO LIFE momentarily raced tight inside OWNERS GLORY.

After this, OWNERS GLORY was shifted out to relieve the tightening to HO HO LIFE.

After the 700 Metres, HO HO LIFE and GLORY OF INDIA bumped as GLORY OF INDIA attempted to prevent HO HO LIFE from shifting out.

A veterinary inspection of LETS GOAL after the race did not show any significant findings.

HO HO LIFE and VIGOR DELIGHT were sent for sampling.
