Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Go Baby Go broke alertly and was quickly sitting underneath the leader Romantic City three off the stands side after 100m, assumed a narrow lead at the 400m and stayed on gamely to just hold Sir Eagles to remain unbeaten in four course-and-distance runs with a step up in grade. Sir Eagles settled third from the rear and two off the grandstand side, switched inside for a clear run at the 400m and finished up nicely to make it close at the line. California Choice was struggling second from the rear, before turning up the jets in the final 100m to get up for a placing with a drop in grade. Well-punted Oriental Prosper was handy up on the speed and plugged on OK to lose a placing 50m out. Another in the market, Arrived Ahead kept away one-paced when asked for an effort. London China Town was badly held up from the 400m to the 100m and kept on well when clear. He was in need of the outing off a suspensory injury in November. Diamond Elegance gave way over the final 100m in an improved effort with a gear change to blinkers and a crossed nose band.
