Recap by phillip woo

Emperor Claudius got the run of the race on the back of the speed, worked to the lead at the 200m and staved off a challenge from stablemate Hot Shot for the win. Hot Shot travelled in fourth and one off the fence, was hard ridden approaching the final bend, cornered in with two wider out and stayed on well for second. Fun Rider made his run second from the rear and one off, straightened three deep and made headway late for third. Withinmyheart settled midfield and one off the fence, rounded the final bend with one wider out and kept on reasonably well to edge out Winning Edge for fourth prize. Firming favourite Winning Edge bided his time at the rear, swung the final bend widest out and was doing his best work late without threatening. Adoration went forward from the widest gate to lead approaching the first bend, straightened one off the fence a length on top and was stopping 200m out in a disappointing performance as the best-backed runner in late betting. Business As Usual made his run in midfield and two deep after breaking slowly, was under the pump four wide at the top of the straight and kept on one-paced.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (475) - BANGALORE HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650 Meters WITHINMYHEART shifted out at the start and bumped EMPEROR CLAUDIUS.

BUSINESS AS USUAL began awkwardly and shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by FORTUNE RED PEPPER which shifted in after beginning awkwardly.

After this, BUSINESS AS USUAL was ridden along to improve its position and passing the winning post on the first occasion was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between WITHINMYHEART and HOT SHOT, both of which shifted ground.

After the 1100 Metres, BUSINESS AS USUAL got its head up when proving difficult to settle.

Near the 600 Metres, WITHINMYHEART and BUSINESS AS USUAL bumped.

At the entrance to the Straight, FUN RIDER shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped FLYING SUPREME.

After the race, O Doleuze reported that WINNING EDGE did not show a similar turn of foot that it did at its most recent start and then hung in in the Straight, resulting in the horse being difficult to ride out.

A veterinary inspection of BUSINESS AS USUAL and WINNING EDGE after the race did not show any significant findings.

WINNING EDGE, EMPEROR CLAUDIUS and HOT SHOT were sent for sampling.
