Recap by phillip woo

Kyara travelled third from the rear and two deep, cornered in with two wider out, shifted into the clear widest out at the 350m and quickened nicely to take control 30m out for the win. He got the race run to suit with the pace on and deserved the victory. Chater Way settled fourth from last and two-to-three deep, rounded the final bend with one wider out, let down well to hit the front 100m out and found one better. Cerise Cherry was reined back to settle second from the rear and three deep at the 1,200m after breaking best of all from gate 11, rounded the final bend widest out and stretched out well to get up for third. Tai Sing Yeh made his run behind midfield and two deep, keeping late-fancied favourite Time After Time deep, rounded the final bend five wide and wore down Time After Time in the final stride to complete the First-4. Penglai Xianzi went a good clip on the speed, straightened a length on top and was giving way over the final 150m. Early favourite Semos bided his time behind midfield and on the rails, straightened near the inside, shifted into the clear four deep at the 200m and made some progress. Voile Rouge travelled one-out, one-back, straightened four deep and kept on evenly over the last 100m. Crown Witness tracked stablemate Penglai Xianzi one off the fence, straightened two deep and was struggling to find anything. He's had a lot of hard racing and may need a break. Fulfil A Wish enjoyed the box-seat run, brushed with stablemate Voile Rouge while trying to barge out unsuccessfully for a run at the 400m and was never tested.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (505) - CASTLE PEAK BAY HANDICAP - Class 1 - 1400 Meters KYARA began awkwardly.

From wide barriers, CALIFORNIA DUDE and CERISE CHERRY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

At the entrance to the Straight, VOILE ROUGE became unbalanced when bumped by FULFIL A WISH (M L Yeung) which shifted out across the heels of CROWN WITNESS in an attempt to find clear running.

In this incident, FULFIL A WISH clipped the heels of CROWN WITNESS.

M L Yeung was severely reprimanded and advised that he must ensure that he has sufficient clearance when shifting out from behind other runners and that he must not place undue pressure on other runners to obtain clear running.

Approaching the 200 Metres, FULFIL A WISH was steadied when disappointed for running between VOILE ROUGE and CROWN WITNESS.

Over the final 100 Metres, VOILE ROUGE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TIME AFTER TIME.

Because of this, VOILE ROUGE was not able to be ridden out to the end of the race.

Throughout the race, TIME AFTER TIME travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of CROWN WITNESS and FULFIL A WISH after the race did not show any significant findings.

TIME AFTER TIME, KYARA and CHATER WAY were sent for sampling.
