Recap by phillip woo

Short-priced favourite Can Do sat outside his main threat Sterling City in the run, poked his head in front at the 200m and narrowly prevailed in a rousing battle. He's got room to head higher. Sterling City dictated the running on the speed, straightened narrowly on top and went down fighting as a clear-cut second. Bould Mover enjoyed the box-seat run, straightened three deep and kept plugging away to hold Electronic Fortune for third. Punted late, Electronic Fortune settled fourth and one off the fence, cornered in four deep and kept grinding away to make it close for third. Happy Ceramibo made his run three back and on the fence, straightened three deep and kept on one-paced over the final 150m with every chance. Winning Leader settled worse than midfield and on the rails, shifted four deep upon straightening, drifting further out under pressure and kept on OK. Another newcomer, King's Pact made some ground late without menacing. Affluence Of Rain did nothing.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (578) - AUDEMARS PIGUET JULES AUDEMARS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200 Meters MAKE IT was withdrawn on 26.4.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen both eyes) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter IMPECCABLE.

Before being allowed to race again, MAKE IT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

As the start was effected, AFFLUENCE OF RAIN reared and was slow to begin.

When AFFLUENCE OF RAIN reared, the horse struck its head on the overhead bar.

STREET CAT was slow to begin.

WINNING BOY began awkwardly and lost ground.

Approaching the 900 Metres, STRATHTAY raced ungenerously when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BO BO EXPRESS and shifted ground on a number of occasions.

Approaching the 700 Metres, HAPPY CERAMIBO proved very difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of BOULD MOVER for some distance.

WINNING LEADER, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.

Passing the 150 Metres, KINGS PACT, which had been shifted in, was straightened by its rider after being awkwardly placed outside the heels of AFFLUENCE OF RAIN which shifted out.

Approaching the 100 Metres, CAN DO shifted in and brushed STERLING CITY.

For the majority of the race, IMPECCABLE travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, H W Lai (BO BO EXPRESS) reported that his saddle shifted to the right hand side passing the 600 Metres, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

A veterinary inspection of AFFLUENCE OF RAIN after the race revealed that the horse had sustained a minor cut to the left hind fetlock, however, it was unable to be scoped.

CAN DO and STERLING CITY were sent for sampling.
