Recap by phillip woo
In a six-way finish, Flash Knight made his run behind midfield and three deep with cover behind a very slow pace, rounded the final bend widest out and came home nicely to collar Lombardi in the shadows of the post for an overdue win after placing in three of five others. Lombardi sat second outside the leader Winning Apex, worked to the lead at the 200m and held second by a whisker over Jolly Fine, who made his run second from the rear, rounded the final bend with one wider and was flashing home. Scarlet Camellia was posted without cover in midfield, cornered in three deep and kept on willingly to just miss a placing in a bob of heads. Danzulu was squeezed out at the start and made his run at the rear and was running on strongly to make it close. Xilai Xianzi enjoyed a nice run on the back of the speed and came up just short of placing. Percy Jackson failed to quicken, though had to steady between Xilai Xianzi and Jolly Fine at the 60m. Winning Apex was stopping 250m out in a poor performance. He's better ridden patiently.
