Recap by phillip woo

Plentiful bided his time fifth from the rear and three deep, pushed into the clear with three wider out and fourth off the stands side and let down willingly to get up in the final few strides for the win. Super Caga travelled a handy third and two off the fence, hit the lead in the centre of the course at the 150m and came up just short of notching up a fourth win this season with a step up in grade. Chancellor cleared to lead at the 1,200m, straightened a length on top while pushing into better ground and succumbed inside the final 100m. Heart Wood swung the final bend five off the stands side and wore down Dance For Gold in the dying stages to fill a First-4 spot. Short-priced favourite, Dance For Gold eventually settled three back and two off the rails, rounded the final bend in the centre of the course and kept away one-paced when asked for a response with a step up in trip. Absolute Fantasy kept on evenly without menacing, while Winning Instinct got going when in clear and Happy Ha Ha made no impression. Sunny Fay came up flat over the final 150m.
