Kingston Spartacus bided his time behind midfield and on the rails, came off the fence at the 700m, rounded the final bend six deep and finished off willingly to take control for the win. Favourite Nicholson settled ahead of midfield and three deep, rallied five wide and kept up a steady gallop to overhaul Ho Wongchoy 50m out for second. Ho Wongchoy stalked the speed in second without cover from a wide gate, worked to the lead two deep at the 300m and gave way over the last 100m to just hold third from a fast-finishing Super Bobo down the outside. Super Bobo settled fourth from the rear and two deep, pushed widest out soon after straightening and was getting to the line willingly. Glory Of India made his run at the rear and was hitting the line well when the race was all over. Casa Junior was a prominently ridden, ranged up on the leader four deep approaching the final bend, put his head in front at the 350m and came up flat over the final 100m. Clement Spiri t showed no speed with the blinkers applied and only kept on passed beaten gallopers. Hammered in the betting, Sunny Sky was out of gas and stopping badly 200m out.
