Recap by phillip woo

Jimson The Best settled fourth and one off the fence, rallied four wide upon straightening, hit the lead 200m out and kept on gamely to chalk up a third success this term. Agiaal travelled behind midfield and one off the fence after breaking a tad awkwardly, held-up briefly five deep behind Nordic Star at the top of the straight, shifted a position closer to the inside soon after and really got going inside the final 100m to edge out Yue Lu Treasure for second at long odds in a promising debut effort. Yue Lu Treasure made his run third from the rear and two deep, swung the final bend with one wider and hit the line with purpose. Xilai Xianzi settled midfield and two deep, was off the bit at the 500m, cornered in six deep and made some ground without threatening to figure in the placings as a short-priced favourite. Noble Deluxe enjoyed the box-seat run, kept to the fence upon straightening and only held his ground over the final 100m with every chance. Rolled-up in betting, Snitzel Kid easily crossed over from gate 12 to dictate the early running, before handing up to Heart Wood approaching the first bend and assuming the sit one off, rounded the final bend three deep and kept on one-paced over the final 150m. Heart Wood drove through along the rails to lead entering the first bend from gate one, held a length margin when ridden along at the 400m, was headed two deep at the 200m and was struggling 50m out. He'll likely need a drop in grade to open his win account.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (690) - THE TA KUNG PAO 110TH ANNIVERSARY CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1650 Meters As the start was effected, AGIAAL lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin.

Throughout the race, OCEAN PRINCE travelled wide and without cover.

When questioned regarding his riding in the Straight, C W Wong (YUE LU TREASURE) stated that rounding the Home Turn his mount became unbalanced when bumped by GIVE WELL.

He said in the early part of the Straight YUE LU TREASURE was taken wider by GIVE WELL which shifted out and as a consequence he was not able to immediately commence riding out YUE LU TREASURE.

He said after the 200 Metres YUE LU TREASURE was bumped by GIVE WELL which shifted out.

He said after this he rode YUE LU TREASURE out with the whip in the right hand and YUE LU TREASURE finished off the race strongly.

C W Wong was advised that his riding of YUE LU TREASURE, in particular in the early part of the Straight, had come under notice and the Stewards were concerned with his lack of vigour.

He was further advised to ensure that he rides his mounts out to the best of his ability wherever possible so that his riding does not come under query.

A veterinary inspection of GIVE WELL after the race did not show any significant findings.

XILAI XIANZI, JIMSON THE BEST and AGIAAL were sent for sampling.
