Recap by phillip woo

Dragon Fighter was given a gem of a ride from gate nine to find the box-seat approaching the winning post for the first time, straightened three deep and quickened well to take control 100m out for the win with a drop in grade for his new trainer Richard Gibson. Favourite Mega Champion settled behind midfield and one off the fence, copped a bump between runners approaching the 100m and finished up well for second. Fortune Winner kept on reasonably well to hold stablemate Good Luck Win for third. Good Luck Win cornered with two wider out and plugged on fairly well to just finish outside a placing. Care Free Pegasus a steady bid late without threatening. Ottimo was a prominent fourth in the run and two to three deep, swung the final bend widest out and kept on late without menacing. Great Renown settled behind midfield and two deep, cornered three deep and kept on one-paced. The Untouchable Lad was never on the course in midfield and was a beaten runner a long ways out. Hollywood Kiss made his run third from the back and one off the fence, hit the straight four deep and was doing his best work late when the race was all but over.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (016) - DEEP WATER BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650 Meters VICTORY MASCOT began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, HOLLYWOOD KISS was crowded for room between OTTIMO and THE UNTOUCHABLELAD which shifted in.

From a wide barrier, CARTOON FAY FAY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

For some distance after the 1200 Metres, FORTUNE WINNER over-raced and proved difficult to settle.

Passing the 400 Metres, HOLLYWOOD KISS was checked away from the heels of GREAT RENOWN after attempting a run to the inside of the heels of that horse which was not fully available.

GOOD LUCK WIN got its head on the side and hung out rounding the Home Turn.

At the 200 Metres, MEGA CHAMPION was crowded for room inside GOOD LUCK WIN (Apprentice C Y Ho) which shifted in under pressure.

Apprentice Ho was severely reprimanded and advised that whilst the Stewards were mindful of the fact that tonight's racemeeting was only his second racemeeting after a prolonged absence due to injury, nonetheless he must ride with more care than he did on this occasion.

Close to the finishing line, VICTORY MASCOT was eased when crowded for room between GREAT RENOWN and CARE FREE PEGASUS (W C Marwing) which shifted out.

W C Marwing was advised to exercise more care in future.

Throughout the race, THE UNTOUCHABLELAD travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of THE UNTOUCHABLELAD after the race did not show any significant findings.

DRAGON FIGHTER and MEGA CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
