Recap by phillip woo

What A Heart went forward from gate 11 to lead through good fractions, straightened two lengths on top and kept finding to score a cosy win off a light weight and register winner number 200 for jockey Alex Lai Hoi-wing. Early favourite O'Halo was posted three deep without cover in fourth, shifted two off the fence into the clear at the 300m and finished off well to grab second at the 150m. He'll come on for this run and will be hard to beat next time out over this surface and trip. Honey Fortune enjoyed the box-seat run and stayed on gamely one off the fence to hold down third. Nobody But You enjoyed a ground saving run in fifth, stayed to the inside upon straightening and made a steady bid to finish just outside the placings while shading Fortune Together for fourth. Fortune Together made his run in midfield and two or three deep, straightened with three wider out and closed off OK. Plunged late to jump favourite, Brothers In Arms was hard ridden early on to hold a position worse than midfield and two deep, swung the final bend with two wider out and only kept on passed beaten gallopers. Perfect Joy was another hard ridden early on while settling along the rails behind midfield, straightened four deep and made some progress.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (024) - SUNBIRD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200 Meters PERFECT JOY and BROTHERS IN ARMS bumped at the start.

After this, BROTHERS IN ARMS was vigorously ridden, however, failed to muster speed.

From wide barriers, LUCKY TYCOON and STAR OF FAME were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Approaching the 400 Metres, BROTHERS IN ARMS was bumped by PERFECT JOY which shifted out.

NOBODY BUT YOU and O'HALO bumped passing the 350 Metres as NOBODY BUT YOU attempted to obtain clear running.

After being unable to secure running between O'HALO and EXPEDITE, NOBODY BUT YOU then was unable to obtain clear running until passing the 200 Metres.

K C Leung (BELIEVE IN CHANCE) was fined a sum of $5,000 for dropping his whip near the 200 Metres.

After having considered Jockey Leung's poor record in respect of retaining his whip in races, the Stewards placed him on notice that should there not be an improvement in this aspect of his riding, they would give consideration in the future to imposing a more substantive penalty should he be found to again drop his whip in a race.

For the majority of the race, O'HALO travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of EXPEDITE after the race revealed that the horse had sustained multiple small cuts to both hind legs.

A veterinary inspection of PERFECT JOY and BROTHERS IN ARMS after the race did not show any significant findings.

BROTHERS IN ARMS, WHAT A HEART and O'HALO were sent for sampling.
