Recap by phillip woo

Chater Way rolled forward off a light weight to dictate the running, led by nearly two lengths upon straightening and kept on gamely to score a nice win with smart money coming on late. Another punted late, Fulfil A Wish settled two deep in third, moved to second at the 800m and stayed on well to hold down second. Beauty Flash travelled one off in second, stayed to the inside upon straightening and gave a cheeky sight to hold third in an improved performance. Dan Excel bided his time behind midfield and two deep, swung the final bend with two wider out and was hitting the line with purpose. He wasn't suited by the track conditions in favour of speed and will be one to follow with a step up in trip. Fair Trade made his run behind midfield and on the fence, cornered four deep in a heap of traffic and kept on one-paced when clear over the last 100m. Silver Grecian settled second from the rear and on the rails, stayed to the inside and made some ground without menacing. Best Eleven never looked like he was travelling well enough, despite being short of room the entire straight in his first try over 1,400m with market support coming on late. Familists never got going and will come on for this run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (025) - EGRET HANDICAP - Class 1 - 1400 Meters HAPPY GUYS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped DAN EXCEL.

A short distance after the start, HAPPY GUYS shifted in and bumped BEAUTY FLASH which in turn was taken in onto the hindquarters of OUTDOOR PEGASUS which became unbalanced.

After this, HAPPY GUYS was ridden along to obtain a forward position, however, failed to muster speed and for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover.

From the outside barrier, FAMILISTS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Near the 800 Metres, DAN EXCEL and HAPPY GUYS were taken wider by FAIR TRADE which shifted out to a position one horse off the fence.

After this, DAN EXCEL was left racing wide and without cover.

BEST ELEVEN and FAIR TRADE both had difficulty obtaining clear running prior to the 200 Metres.

Near the 100 Metres, OUTDOOR PEGASUS shifted out and brushed DAN EXCEL.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HAPPY GUYS had bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of BEST ELEVEN after the race did not show any significant findings.

SILVER GRECIAN, CHATER WAY and FULFIL A WISH were sent for sampling.
