Recap by phillip woo

Brilliant Chariot enjoyed the run of the race in fourth along the fence, stayed to the inside upon straightening, hit the lead 200m out and kept finding to score a nice win in a weak Class Four. Specked late, Expectator jumped alertly before easing back to settle fifth and one off the fence approaching the first bend, turned the final corner with two wider out and finished up dourly to claim second in an improved effort with a step up to the mile. Favourite Lord Dragon loomed a runner-up threat at the 200m and came up one-paced to just hold third over the last 100m. Punted late, Tom's Eighth was patiently ridden second from the rear and to the outside of Healthy Manner, swung the final bend widest out and was getting going late to make it close for third. Viva Guy loomed a place chance at the 200m and came up flat over the last 100m. Healthy Manner made some ground late passed beaten gallopers. Ferrabosco was never on the track in third, ranged up to vie for the lead one off the fence with Kingston Elite at the 800m and was stopping 150m out with some late-market support. Happy Seven was best into stride, before handing up to settle third and one off at the 900m and gave way 200m out in a weak effort with a drop in grade. Kingston Elite was stopping 200m out in a disappointing effort with a return to Class Four.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (029) - TSZ LOK HANDICAP (Sec 1) - Class 4 - 1650 Meters KINGSTON ELITE shifted in at the start and bumped BRILLIANT CHARIOT.

TOM'S EIGHTH was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Near the 1100 Metres, LORD DRAGON commenced to prove very difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of EXPECTATOR for some distance.

FERRABOSCO travelled wide and without cover until near the 800 Metres at which point the horse was able to shift in to race outside KINGSTON ELITE.

After the 200 Metres, HEALTHY MANNER was shifted out when unable to improve into tight running between HAPPY SEVEN and FERRABOSCO, both of which were giving ground.

T Clark (EXPECTATOR) reported that his saddle shifted back slightly at the entrance to the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY SEVEN and KINGSTON ELITE after the race did not show any significant findings.
