Recap by phillip woo

Loads Of Joy settled nicely in fourth and one off the fence, straightened three deep and took control 100m out from pacesetter The Prince for a good win with a drop in grade and return to the dirt. Hearts Keeper made his run a distant last after breaking slowly, straightened three deep with a ton of work ahead of him and finished up nicely to get up in the final few metres for second in a much-improved run with a switch to the dirt. Country Charm made his run two deep in midfield, turned the final bend five wide, worked to second 20m out and was pipped late for second in his initial run on the dirt. Punted late, Brothers In Arms settled fifth and one off the fence, straightened four deep, loomed a good chance of placing at the 150m and run peaked 50m later. The Prince went forward from gate nine to lead, was challenged out wide by Good Smile at the 600m, ditched that one and went clear by two at the head of the straight and was swamped in the final 100m. Nobody But You settled third from the rear, cornered with one wider out and kept on passed beaten gallopers. Favourite City Delight was under pressure from the outset to hold a position behind midfield and on the rails, straightened two deep and found nothing in the drive.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (094) - MOUNT CAMERON HANDICAP (Sec 1) - Class 4 - 1200 Meters NOBODY BUT YOU was crowded for room at the start between THE PRINCE and BROTHERS IN ARMS which got its head on the side and shifted out.

HEARTS KEEPER was slow to begin and then, despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, failed to muster speed.

Passing the 900 Metres, LUCKY TYCOON was steadied away from the heels of COUNTRY CHARM which shifted in momentarily.

Near the 300 Metres, ELEPHANT MAGIC became unbalanced and shifted in towards the running rail of its own accord.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CITY DELIGHT, D Whyte stated that he had ridden the horse in the final gallop in the lead up to tonight'S race and, in his opinion, that work had been good, however, CITY DELIGHT usually works well in the mornings.

He said after shifting out and making contact with LOADS OF JOY at the start, CITY DELIGHT, despite being vigorously ridden along throughout the early and middle stages, failed to muster speed and did not stretch out comfortably at any stage.

He said he placed the horse under pressure rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight, however, CITY DELIGHT did not respond to his riding at any stage and was disappointing.

A veterinary inspection of CITY DELIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of ELEPHANT MAGIC and SICHUAN EXPRESS after the race did not show any significant findings.

CITY DELIGHT, LOADS OF JOY and HEARTS KEEPER were sent for sampling.
