Recap by phillip woo

Jolly Fine was switched off early on second from the back and along the fence from a wide gate, had three behind him entering the straight four deep, switched off heels into the clear at the 250m and quickened nicely to take control 20m out for the win in his course debut. Zachary settled a distant second behind the swift pace of My Goal, claimed the front 200m out and found one too good in the end. Favourite Medallist settled midfield and on the rails, straightened four deep in a bit of traffic and came through late near the inside to grab third 20m out. Very Well settled nicely in midfield and one off the fence, rallied five wide upon straightening and ran on well, before peaking 100m out in positive first-up run this season for his new trainer Derek Cruz. The Untouchablelad was switched off one off the fence at the rear, turned the final bend with three wider out and was finding the line with purpose to just miss out on a First-4 spot. He may be near a rating bottom. Specked late, Noble De Best settled behind midfield and two deep, swung the final bend with one wider out and was finishing up well to just miss some prize money with a return to Class Three. Ho Wongchoy bided his time fourth from the rear and two deep, swung the final bend widest.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (146) - THE FAKEI CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1650 Meters ELECTRONIC FIGHTER was withdrawn on 6.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BRIGHT STAR (W C Marwing).

Before being allowed to race again, ELECTRONIC FIGHTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HO WONGCHOY was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between AMBITIOUS TREASURE and FLYING UNICORN which shifted in after being bumped by THE UNTOUCHABLELAD.

From wide barriers, JOLLY FINE and GOOD FELLOW were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Near the 300 Metres, MEDALLIST was momentarily crowded for room between FLYING UNICORN and BRIGHT STAR which shifted out.

After the 200 Metres, K C Leung (NOBLE DE BEST) dropped his whip.

Having regard to Jockey Leung's previous record in respect of this matter, the Stewards considered it appropriate for him to be fined the sum of $15,000.

A veterinary inspection of MY GOAL after the race did not show any significant findings.

MEDALLIST, JOLLY FINE and ZACHARY were sent for sampling.
