Recap by phillip woo

What A Heart cleared to lead from gate nine at the 1,000m, straightened a length on top and kept up a strong gallop to chalk up a second all-weather track win from three starts this term. He was suited by the fast surface. Namjong Blossoms settled second in the run along the fence, cornered in two deep and just held off Good Smile for second in his dirt debut. Good Smile sat on the back of the speed in third and one off the fence and kept coming late to make it tight for second at long odds. Flying China was taken back to last from gate 10, straightened two deep and was unlucky not to have finished in the placings when on heels over the last 100m. It was huge run in defeat on the speed favouring oval. Kidconi settled fifth and one off the fence in the run, cornered in five wide and stayed on okay without menacing. Favourite O'Halo settled fourth along the fence, stayed to the paint upon straightening and kept on evenly over the final 150m. Well-punted late, Five Stars Hotel settled midfield and two deep in the run, was tight for room three deep at the 200m and kept on all right without menacing. City Of Lights badly botched the start before settling worse than midfield and only kept up an even gallop over the final 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (160) - LAI KOK HANDICAP (Sec 2) - Class 4 - 1200 Meters CITY OF LIGHTS stood flat-footed as the start was effected and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground.

Before being allowed to race again, CITY OF LIGHTS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

O'HALO began awkwardly and shortly after the start made heavy contact with GROUP LEADER, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.

Near the 250 Metres, O'HALO was shifted back to the inside of NAMJONG BLOSSOMS when disappointed for running between that horse and GOOD SMILE.

Passing the 200 Metres, FLYING CHINA, which was closing off the race strongly, was shifted away from the heels of O'HALO.

FLYING CHINA was then unable to obtain clear running and close to the finishing line shifted in away from the heels of NAMJONG BLOSSOMS and in doing so bumped O'HALO which became unbalanced and shifted in towards the running rail, resulting in its rider, D Whyte, not being able to fully test O'HALO over the concluding stages.

After this, FLYING CHINA continued to be unable to obtain clear running.

Right on the finishing line, FIVE STARS HOTEL was crowded for room between NAMJONG BLOSSOMS and GOOD SMILE, both of which shifted marginal ground.

O'HALO, WHAT A HEART and NAMJONG BLOSSOMS were sent for sampling.
