Recap by phillip woo

Hear The Roar settled in the box-seat with first-time blinkers, stayed to the inside upon straightening, hit the front 150m out and edged clear for a convincing win. Favourite Endowing settled fourth and one off the fence, cornered in five wide and stayed on well, despite a tendency to lug in under pressure to fill the runner-up spot. Travel Brand settled third from the rear and two deep, cornered in with one wider out and finish up nicely to grab third in the final few metres with money coming on late. Regency Winner travelled fifth along the fence, was trapped behind a wall of horses while straightening three deep, shifted to the rails at the 200m and came up just short of placing. Enthus ing sat one off the fence in second, straightened three deep and came up one-paced over the last 100m with every chance. Specked late, Hollywood Kiss dictated the running at his own leisure, cornered a length on top and was yielding ground over the last 100m. He merits attention with a drop in grade. Indigo Way settled behind midfield and two deep, turned the final bend with three wider out and made some progress late without menacing. Fortune Winner settled fourth from the rear and along the inside, straightened four-to-five deep and found nothing under pressure.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (199) - KYOTO HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800 Meters NOBLE BOY was withdrawn on 27.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter REGENCY WINNER (G Moss?m).

Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

FORTUNE WINNER began awkwardly and stumbled shortly after the start.

When FORTUNE WINNER began awkwardly, it shifted out, resulting in PRIDE AND HONOUR being crowded for room inside TRAVEL BRAND.

FORTUNE WINNER was then ridden along, however, failed to muster speed.

Near the 500 Metres, TRAVEL BRAND raced tight between INDIGO WAY and PRECISION ERA.

Shortly after entering the Straight, PRECISION ERA got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of TRAVEL BRAND.

After being held up for clear running approaching the 200 Metres, REGENCY WINNER was shifted in away from the heels of HOLLYWOOD KISS near the 200 Metres.

In the Straight, ENDOWING hung in and proved very difficult to ride.

Throughout the race, TRES MAGNIFIQUE travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TRES MAGNIFIQUE had lost its right hind plate.

A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE WINNER after the race did not show any significant findings.

HEAR THE ROAR and ENDOWING were sent for sampling.
