Recap by phillip woo

Telecom Top Star was ridden for luck at the rear from gate 14, straightened three deep, ducked to the inside at the 200m, quickened on the back of a solid pace to poke his head narrowly in front at the 50m from Lucky Army and out-duelled that one and then the closing Newswire Too for a maiden win at his 23rd start. Lucky Army made his run fourth from the rear and just off the rails, cornered widest out, swept to a narrow lead at the 150m and found one just better on the day. Newswire Too saved ground along the fence in fifth, straightened three deep and kept on well to make it a thriller at the finish. Hurry Hurry Up was vying for the lead early on before assuming the sit three back and on the rails in fourth from Specked late, Smart Guy was never on the track in fourth from the rear and found little from the outside upon straightening. Plunged late to start favourite, Mega Posh found nothing when clear in another disappointing run.
